Aside from the 1300 mile (20 hour) trek to Lake Geneva, WI, we had a blast.  Peyton ran in the invitation only Showdown at Sundown with the top 27 riders in the US/Canada.  In the Champ he ran a poor qual but a good final to finish 7th.  In the 300 he ran a good qualifier (3rd) only to have his hood fall off in the middle of the race and fall to 13th in the final.
We then stayed and ran the Nationals on Saturday and Sunday.  Saturday was the 300, he ran a 4th and a 5th to qualify outright for the final without having to go through the LCQ.  In the final however he got hit pretty hard while running 7th (hard enough to tear up a side panel) and get flipped, finishing a disappointing but fun 14th after the "yard sale" was all picked up off the track.  On Sunday was the 120 Champ (modified).  He ran two 4th's in qualifiers to again qualify outright for the final, again not having to go through the LCQ.  Being on the outside lane he got a poor start and while he worked his way through the field, he finished 10th overall.  It was a really fun experience and a good showing for him at his 2nd (and biggest) national venue this season.
